From Stage to Seats at The Lion King
What a powerful and heartwarming experience! Last year, our LTYC Scholars at Booker T. Washington Middle School poured their hearts into bringing The Lion King Jr. to life on stage—channeling creativity, dedication, and teamwork in every performance.
This year, they had the unforgettable opportunity to witness the Broadway production of The Lion King live at the Hippodrome Theatre in Baltimore—and it was nothing short of magical. 🌟
From Performers to Audience Members
For many of our students, this was their first time attending a professional Broadway show, and the full-circle moment was deeply impactful. From the dazzling costumes and powerful vocals to the rich storytelling and cultural rhythms, every scene reignited their passion for the performing arts.
They weren’t just watching the show—they were connecting the dots between their own creative journeys and the professionals lighting up the stage. The looks of awe, joy, and inspiration said it all.
Why This Matters
Experiences like this are a core part of LTYC’s mission—to not only educate through the arts but to open doors and expand minds. When students see themselves represented in powerful stories and extraordinary performances, they begin to dream bigger and believe deeper in their own potential.
Thank You
A huge thank you to the Hippodrome Theatre for helping make this experience possible, and to our educators and supporters who continue to advocate for enriching, arts-centered opportunities for youth.
This is what arts education is all about—creating moments that inspire, empower, and transform.
