LTYC arts programs are found in communities all across the state of Maryland, Virginia and D.C. through partnerships with schools, districts, and community-based organizations. At any given time, our programs provide thousands of underserved youth with opportunities and resources that otherwise would not be available to them. Read about our news and events here.

School Based Programming for Youth
LTYC integrates arts and education to develop an enthusiasm for learning that transfers into increased academic performance and positive youth development. School based arts programs strengthen and augment the level of arts instruction in persistently low-performing elementary, middle and high schools.

After School Programming for Youth
The After School Performing and Creative Arts Program provides a safe, structured, home-away-from-home environment for youth on school days. Students have experiences in positive youth development while deterring them from idle time and poor decision-making.

Summer Programming for Youth
The Performing and Creative Arts Summer Program strives to promote students' artistic development, academic performance, and healthy lifestyle engagement over a 4- 8 week period. Youth will receive educational support, life skills training, mentoring services, recreation special workshops and guest speakers, and field trips.

1:1 Arts Mentoring for Youth
LTYC’s 1:1 Arts Mentoring program uses a one-to-one approach to provide exposure to and skills training in the arts, allowing young people to experience the many therapeutic benefits of the arts. Originally designed for youths who are in foster care and/or receive mental health or social services, LTYC offers 1:1 Art Support training in any youth's home or in the community as a part of their treatment module and/or intervention.

Family and Community Engagement
LTYC’s PACE Team seeks to bring parents and community members into a closer relationship with LTYC with the goal of working together to better support our mission to benefit communities through arts programming. As an organization, we are committed to empowering youth to excel in the arts, academics, and social development.

Parent Engagement Workshops
LTYC has a training team ready to deliver powerful and engaging workshops for your families. Topics include focuses on SEL, Nutrition and Stress, Tapping into Your Child's Potential, and connections to the Arts. Additionally, LTYC can be part of your family and community nights by hosting a Paint and Sip, Yoga or Zumba class, or another fun activity to get your parents involved!

Professional Development for Teachers and Leaders
LTYC knows that professional development, coupled with proper resources, is a critical factor for success in the classroom. The Professional Development Team of LTYC works with teachers and administrators to instill innovative and research-based best practices

Through exciting hands-on workshops, inspiring field trips, uplifting events, and interactive experiences, we spark imagination and encourage self-expression at every turn.
Sharing Season is all about promoting artistic discovery across generations, creating safe and joyful spaces where youth and families can explore, learn, and showcase their unique gifts. This is more than a season — it’s a celebration where we bring art to life and let creativity shine in every corner of the community!
